Alex is from Tucson, Arizona, and earned a B.S. in chemistry with a minor in biology from Linfield University (McMinnville, OR) in 2017. Alex earned a Ph.D in Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacology, in 2023 from the University of Iowa. Alex’s research is in determining the role of neuro-immune interactions within the spinal cord in pain sensitization. Alex enjoys traveling and spends free time reading, baking, writing poetry, and drawing scientific illustrations.
